Prologue, It all started with a sickness.
It began as a sickness that could be instantly transferred to anyone on contact. This sickness was known as Fading, the victim would fall under a sleep like death, some woke up some didn't it was all a matter of proper treatment. There was no cure for this sickness nor was there a vaccine, those who woke up described the same thing.
''I awoke in a dreamland.'' they all said, ''a place that housed both your angles and your demons. I had to get through maze-like grasslands and actually fight my demons. There, in fact, was a giant maze that felt like it went on forever. When I awoke they said I was in a death-like sleep and would not wake up but I could have sworn it was real.''
These people had been called Faders and the place they clamed to have went, The Fade. Many people have feared the fade because of the disturbing and horrible tales they have heard, most don't even go outside because of the fear of catching the dreaded sickness.
Chapter 1, Entering The Fade.
''GRELL!'' A young girl screamed, as she ran down a long hallway.
This young girls name was Hattie, she was a very intriguing girl, about the age 19. Hattie was a Grim Reaper, her partner, Grell Sutcliff, had just gone into the The Fade.
"HATTIE, YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE!'' Ronald Knox yelled.
Hattie, being the stubborn reaper she was, didn't listen and ran strait into the infirmary. Hattie ran to the edge of her friends bed, Grell's eyes were closed but his breathing was normal. Hattie's eyes teared up, just looking at Grell brought back so many memories and now, she might lose him forever.
''Grell...'' Hattie whispered, wiping her eyes.
''Hattie come out of there and don't touch anything.'' Ronald commanded.
Hattie did as she was told, but what she didn't know was her hand had accidently brushed against the sheets of Grell's bed.
Over the next few days Hattie's energy slowly depleted, other reapers began to notice and check in on her to make sure she was alright. Soon Ronald found her collapsed over her desk and asleep, Hattie had caught Fading.
