Grell Sutcliff walked down the gravel road towards his Master's manor. It was almost dark and the shy, forgetful and clumsy butler had been in town picking up an outfit his Master had asked her personal tailor to make. Grell sighed and continued to walk as the breeze began to blow harder than it had been.
''Oh my, looks like a storm is coming I better get back fast.'' Grell said, as he began to run.
All of the sudden he saw a beautiful girl who had fallen on the ground and bruised her self pretty good. As the girl began to get up and gather the books that had scattered when she fell, Grell sensed powerful magic coming from her. You see Grell wasn't just a butler, he was a Grim Reaper as well and a very good one at that. When he was in his Reaper form, Grell's personality changed from shy to flamboyant in seconds. Grell walked over and picked up a book and handed it to the girl,
''Hello there.'' Grell said, with a smile. ''What's your name?''
The girl looked up. ''Oh hello, I'm Hattie and thanks by the way.'' She said, taking the book.
Grell looked Hattie up and down, she was dressed primarily in a wine red and looked about his age- maybe a couple years younger.
''Might I know you're name?'' Hattie asked, as she got up.
''Grell, Grell Sutcliff.'' Grell answered, timidly.
Hattie smiled and balanced the 5 books on one arm and held out her hand, Grell nervously shook it.
''I-I couldn't help but notice your skill with balancing those books. M-My Master is looking for a maid if your interested.'' Grell said, nervously.
Hattie's eye's brightened, ''Oh yes very much interested, but I live in the city and that's quite far from the country.'' She said, timidly.
''Oh you'll live at the manor, so there's no need to worry.'' Grell said, to reassure her.
Hattie smiled, ''Then I'll take it.'' She said, as Grell began to lead her down the gravel road toward the manor where he worked.
''I have to warn you, I'm quite shy and a bit clumsy.'' Hattie said, a blush upon her face.
''Oh don't worry I'm shy and more than a bit clumsy.'' Grell said.
Hattie giggled and continued walking. The two walked, Hattie telling Grell a little bit about herself and it turned out they had a lot in common.
''You know Hattie, I think we'll get along just fine.'' Grell said, and the two continued toward the manor.
Chapter 2, The Reaper, Serving.
Hattie yawned and woke up in her room in the servants quarters in the Durless manor. It had been two months since Grell had brought her there and she quite enjoyed it. Hattie's employer, Angelina Durless-Barnett, was very kind and understanding. Angelina never yelled at Hattie or Grell when they dropped something or made a mistake, which happened a lot. Hattie stretched out her back and then got dressed.
''Two months...Huh.'' Hattie said to herself, as she adjusted her glasses.
Hattie walked into Grell's room and found him asleep, his brown, waist length hair covered his face. Hattie sighed --leave it to Grell to sleep in even though he's a butler.
''Grell wake up or you'll sleep in again.'' Hattie said, as she laid his clothes out for him.
''Oh 5 minutes.'' Grell whined into his pillow.
''No get up.'' Hattie said, as she hit him with a pillow. ''Honestly, sometimes I think I'm your maid.''
''Don't be silly.'' Grell said, as he sat up.
